My wife and I had always wanted to travel abroad, but with our busy lives and growing family needs we never got the chance. However, this year we made an international trip one of our annual goals to plan our finances accordingly. And it worked! After regularly saving up vacation days and ensuring our kids don’t have to face too much academic stress, we were finally ready.
The next challenge was to figure out what destination to visit, a decision we left to our kids. Their inclination was towards Dubai, and who could say no to that? Our daughter was excited about seeing the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Dolphinarium, while our son was hyped about Ferrari World. My wife, on the other hand, was looking forward to a desert safari. Thanks to Thrillophilia’s planning and guidance, we were able to seamlessly experience everything.
PLANNING WITH THRILLOPHILIA
We had a week to explore Dubai, but with the vast variety of experiences in the city, even a month would be less. My wife and I knew that a Dubai trip would not happen again anytime soon, so missing out on major experiences was impossible. We wanted to cover the best of Dubai, so I asked around with my colleagues for a solution. Some of them suggested going for a travel company, and their reviews of Thrillophilia were so good that I was immediately convinced.
All the chaos just vanished the moment I scrolled through the Thrillophilia website. There were a wide range of packages to choose from! My wife and I finalised the Dubai Family Getaway package because somehow it covered every experience on our wishlist. We didn’t even need to customise as it matched all our expectations within budget. Once we had chosen, the incredible team at Thrillophilia took over. After that, all we had to worry about was packing our things, as the team had dealt with everything else.
DISCOVERING THE MAGIC OF DUBAI
Just like the Thrillophilia reviews I had seen, the team was ready right at the airport to help us settle and explore. The transfer to the hotel and the check-in process was smooth and quick, which gave us time to relax. Our first major Dubai experience was the Dhow Cruise, something we had discovered during our travel research. Sailing on a luxurious cruise and enjoying a delicious traditional dinner was amazing, and the views added to its charm. The Marina was absolutely stunning at night, and we could spot so many landmarks right from the cruise.
On the second day of our Dubai trip, we had a city tour scheduled. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and answered all of the crazy questions our kids asked. The two major experiences for this day were exploring the Dubai Aquarium and admiring Dubai from the Burj Khalifa. As if Burj Khalifa wasn’t stunning enough from the ground, we got a chance to admire the views from the observation deck – it left us all awestruck.
The following day we explored the Dubai Dolphinarium, where the kids had so much fun. It was such a delight to watch the dolphins and seals , who were extremely adorable and witty. My favourite part of the day was visiting the Museum of the Future, where I got a chance to explore several unique exhibits, which I found to be truly mind-blowing.
The highlight of the fourth day was something that my wife had been looking forward to the most – a desert safari. Calling it a safari is actually downplaying the variety of experiences that it offers. My wife and I went dune bashing and sandboarding while the kids rode camels. While we were tired, the BBQ dinner and calming musical performance acted as a relaxing balm. For those few hours, it felt like we were not in a modern city but a traditional Arab village.
Our second last day was for exploring Abu Dhabi, where we saw the stunning Sheikh Zayed Mosque and the Heritage Village. We also went to Emirates Palace and Louvre Abu Dhabi, but the main part was visiting Ferrari World. It was the one thing our son was most hyped about, and watching him jump with joy made everything worth it.
The final day was a complete surprise for our kids, and it turned out to be an unforgettable, action-packed adventure. They have always loved water parks, so we spent an entire day at Atlantis Aquaventure. The sheer size of the park, the exciting rides, and the beach – everything was simplu perfect.
As we sat at the airport the next morning, our joy was through the roof. Dubai had been so much fun, everything we had imagined it to be and so much more. No wonder it just keeps getting popular every year!
