Get Romantic in the Aussie Largest City: It doesn’t really matter if you are taking someone out on a first date, celebrating an anniversary, or getting ready to pop the question; what matters is that you’ll find an array of romantic opportunities in Sydney that suit every occasion and the idea behind it – and you’ll love every second of it!
Here’s a rundown of our favorite things to do in the largest city of Australia for everyone who is looking to keep their romance in check.
Go Sky Watching at Sydney Observatory
Spend a night looking at the starry sky with your loved one, learning all about the stars above us; let’s bet your sweetie will go all sweet on you.
A guided tour takes place from 7pm to 8pm, some Saturday evenings and on Tuesdays and Fridays regularly. The Aboriginal Astronomy guides will tell you wonderful sky stories during this one hour evening tour and even teach you how to see the emu in the sky and find south using the Southern Cross. The planetarium experience will be followed by a telescope viewing if weather permits. Keeping our fingers crossed for you!

Open Air Cinema (in the summer)
If you are visiting Sydney in the summer months, catch a flick in the evening air at one of Sydney’s outdoor cinemas. You’ll get to enjoy cult classics, many new releases or simply watch a special preview screening. Relax on Bondi Beach at Ben and Jerry’s Openair Cinemas Bondi or opt for a stunning Sydney Harbour backdrop at the St George Open Air Cinema – you can’t go wrong either way.
Gelato Messina Fun Dates
If you want to be romantic and not spend much money in the process, gelato Messina date is the thing to do. We’ve all heard of the famous Gelato Messina, so why not have your romance life wrapped up in a creamy ice-cream cup? You don’t really need to be elaborate to get the girl/guy to like you; all it takes is to be you and show initiative… oh, and – bring in the ice-cream, of course.
Sea Plane and Balloon Aloft
If you want to give her the skies, you can – just rent a ride that will take you 350m from the ground, in a balloon from the Hunter Valley to the Camden Valley. A breathtaking joyride will definitely charm your sweetheart into appreciating your efforts and loving you even more. If you are feeling even more adventurous – go for a very dynamic experience of sea plane rides; this one will definitely get your adrenaline pumping!
‘Roar and Snore’ at Taronga Zoo
‘Roar and Snore’ is what you call a date with a difference! Taronga Zoo and their Roar and Snore program offer an unforgettable experience, for sure; face-to-face with furry, feathered and flaking creatures (and all while spending a night in a tent) is a pretty unique way to be romantic, don’t you think?

The experience is beautiful, though – after spending a night in a safari tent (located within the zoo grounds), you’ll wake up to the sounds of the zoo’s resident birds and animals while enjoying the sun rise over Sydney Harbour. Sweet!
Sydney Tower Experience
If you are planning to pop the question, this just might be the place to do it! Sydney Tower is 350m above the ground level, the venue is round and the walls are mostly glass. Can you just imagine the view? Brides and grooms to be are going crazy over the Tower, and everyone’s hoping to book in time. How could they not! Have you seen any of the wedding videography from Sydney and Sydney Tower? It’s spectacular!
Even if you are not proposing, this is a perfect place for a romantic dinner with your loved one.
As you can see, romantic places are all over Sydney; all you need to do is find the one that suits your opportunity, desire, love and get romantic in the Aussie largest City and Enjoy Every Second of It.
