For transportation, you should avoid taxis. You can take the bus, walk, or book a room at a hotel that is close to town. Renting a car could be an option if you want to stay out on the Corridor and come into Cabo often. If you need to take a taxi, try to find someone to share the cab with; this will reduce your fare as taxis are very expensive in Cabo.
You can make the best use of your money if you use pesos. While US dollars and other currencies are accepted, you will not be able to get good exchange rates. If you need to use an ATM, try to find one of a bank that is affiliated with a bank of your home country. You can do so by checking the website of your bank or calling them up before you leave for Cabo. Otherwise, you will spend a lot on ATM charges and associated fees.
